Gold plated jewelry describes a gold-color or gold-layer finish over a base material such as brass or 925 silver. Vermeil normally means a gold layer over 925 sterling silver, but the exact definition should be confirmed for the buyer's market. 925 silver means the base metal is sterling silver; plating and anti-oxidation finish still need to be specified.

2.5-5 um refers to a requested plating-thickness range in micrometers. Verification should be agreed before production, including the test method, sampling plan, measured points and whether a report is requested for the SKU or batch.

Water-and-wear performance should not be treated as universal. It depends on base material, coating system, component design, contact chemicals and test method. MOQ is calculated by style, material, finish, mold requirement, stone or pearl selection, color count, logo work, packaging and total order plan. Catalog styles and custom developments can have different starting quantities, so buyers should request a project quote with style count and quantity per style. The approved sample should define the reference for material, dimensions, weight, plating color, stone setting, logo position, packaging and inspection criteria. Bulk production can then be checked against that approved sample and any signed specification notes.

These documents normally relate to restricted-substance requirements for a specific material, component, SKU or batch. Buyers should request the document type, test scope, tested parts, report date and market requirement before treating a document as applicable to a finished product.
