Custom Earring Sample Approval: What to Confirm Before Bulk Production

Custom earring sample approval should record the exact version accepted for production and any changes that still require review. Positive feedback on a photograph or a received sample can sit alongside unresolved weight, branding and finish requests. Give each open change a written decision before authorizing bulk production.

A sample can be liked and still need revision

The QJC earring development case began with a request for three earring samples. On September 17, 2026, the customer reacted positively to a black sample photograph, then immediately asked about weight and the brand mark. The supplier reported 7.5 grams per piece and stated that the logo had not yet been added.

After reporting receipt on October 13, the customer again expressed satisfaction with the work while requesting a heavier black design, branding on the back and the darker of two red finishes. The supplier proposed thickening the black piece. These exchanges demonstrate sample feedback and revision requests; revised-sample approval and completed bulk production remain unconfirmed. Our team identifies the project as originating from Qatar.

The practical lesson is to keep approval attached to a version and a decision. “I like it” is useful feedback, but the order brief must also say whether the next version needs to be heavier, carry branding or use a different finish.

Turn comments into a sample approval record

Write one line for each feature that could change the product the buyer receives. Give the sample a style identifier and mark each item as accepted, awaiting clarification or requiring a new reference. Both parties should know which open items prevent production release.

This suggested decision table translates the case's issues into a buyer's approval tool. It does not claim that these checks were completed in the project.

Feature Record before release Decision needed
Earring sample weight Weight per piece, unit and sample version Accept current version or define revision
Back branding Approved artwork, position and orientation Review a representation of the marked version
Red finish Identified physical sample or agreed reference Name the selected option clearly
Shape and dimensions Marked drawing and revision reference Confirm which version controls
Closure Intended fastening and sample feedback Resolve operation or fit concerns
Production permission List of remaining changes Give explicit release for the agreed version

Keep the same record with the quotation. If the revision changes construction or finish, ask whether the price or schedule needs to be updated before release.

Define weight and logo placement in usable terms

“Heavier” describes a direction, not a final specification. Ask what the proposed change involves and whether another sample is needed to assess the result. Record whether a weight refers to one earring or a pair. In this case, 7.5 grams per piece was supplier-reported; it was not an independently verified measurement or a universal target for earrings.

Logo placement also needs more detail than “on the back.” Supply the approved artwork and mark the intended location on a drawing or photograph. Ask how the mark will be applied and request confirmation of its orientation. A sample without branding cannot settle the appearance of the final branded version.

Review finish selection before moving to bulk

When two red options are being considered, identify the chosen sample so the supplier can connect the decision to the correct version. Camera settings and lighting can make verbal descriptions such as “darker red” difficult to reproduce from a screen alone. Keep the selected physical reference where possible and document what the buyer is approving.

Sample-to-bulk production also needs a current commercial agreement. QJC's bulk minimum is 60 pieces per style for all products. Ask how colors and earring pairs will be counted, and request the revised quote and production stages. Historical sample fees or timing in a conversation should not become the terms for a new order. See QJC's jewelry manufacturing FAQ when preparing those questions.

Questions about approving custom earrings

Is there an ideal weight for every earring design?

No single weight resolves every design brief. Record the buyer's intended feel and evaluate the particular construction and sample. Do not turn this case's reported weight into a general quality standard.

Must every change receive another physical sample?

Agree which evidence will be sufficient for each change. A construction or weight revision may need physical evaluation; the approval method should be settled before production permission is given.

Does receiving a sample mean the bulk order is approved?

Receipt confirms that the customer has the sample. Production approval needs a separate, explicit decision tied to the final version and unresolved changes.

Request a quotation against the approved version

Send QJC your earring sample approval brief. Attach sample photos, style IDs, requested weight changes, logo artwork and placement, selected finish, quantities per style and your required date. Identify any feature that must be reviewed again before bulk release.
